Evelyn Marina is a text-based artist and writer. Her text-based works are a form of automatic and autobiographical writing found as low-fi fragments on collected paper. Her paintings and illustrations express the philosophy that Life is Art.
After five years of creating magazine layouts and textiles for fashion labels as a Graphic Designer, Evelyn re-ignited a love and confidence for painting and an eagerness to pursue an art career in 2018, showing painted work in Queensland, Sunshine Coast. She was invited to show work consecutively in 2021 and 2022 at Bentleyβs 40 under 40, and PAINT, held at Noosa Regional Gallery. Explore Evelynβs cv in full here.
Living in a barn house on the edge of the Burringbar Valley, northern New South Wales, Evelyn is an avid observer and easily distracted by animals. Her affinity with the animal and plant kingdom, ocean and nature translates through her work.
Previously hailed as a Blue Girl, moving to the forest sees her transition into a Green Girl.
In 2025, Evelyn is interested in exploring experimental and performative art, illustrating book covers and text-based exhibitions.
