Evelyn Marina is a painter, text-based artist and writer. Her text-based works are a form of automatic and auto-biographical writing found in fragments, which are low-fi, on throw-away paper.

Inspiration is drawn heavily through observing everything around her.

Evelyn’s exploration of creativity formed at ten years old when she was enrolled in an after-school art class. A shy child, this ignited a love for imagination, turning to paper to express what she couldn't quite vocalise. Since then, evelyn has had consistent writing practice.

Naturally, she went on to gain a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, where she created layouts for magazines and textiles for fashion labels for almost a decade.

evelyn re-ignited a love and confidence for painting and an eagerness to pursue an art career in 2018, showing painted work in Queensland, Sunshine Coast. She was invited to show work consecutively in 2021 and 2022 at Bentley’s 40 under 40, and PAINT, held at Noosa Regional Gallery to name a few. explore evelyn’s cv in full here.

evelyn is currently traveling, inviting a more minimal approach to her practice through drawing and writing.
